Creative Writing Group

This friendly and informal group set up by Emma Timpany looks at creative writing techniques. We use simple and enjoyable exercises to help you begin to write your own stories, poetry and memoirs. The sessions are suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience.

‘Writing Dangerously’

Felicity will be leading a series of eight workshops, each focused around a particular theme. Each session will take its inspiration from the work of published writers and will include an element of poetry and prose, as well as some practical techniques. Felicity’s aim in each session will be to set up optimum ‘conditions for writing’, creating a safe environment in which students can allow themselves to write dangerously.

Dates:  Saturdays 10.30am to 12.30pm as follows:

7 January; 14 January; 4 February; 25 February;4 March; 11 March; 25 March; 1 April

Venue: The Meeting Room, Carnon Downs Village Hall, TR3 6JJ

Cost: A cycle of eight sessions is £40 (£32 concessions).

Felicity Notley has published poetry and short stories. She is an experienced teacher and has completed an MA in Creative Writing at UEA. She has been longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Prize and shortlisted for the Bridport Prize for poetry. Felicity is a member of Telltales and Falmouth Poetry Group.
